SMR's, HER's, and National Records Online
Sites and Monuments Records or SMRs, as well as Historic Enviroment Records (HERs) consist of a list of known archaeological sites. Each record list the location, type and period of site along with a brief description and information on the location of more detailed sources of information such as site reports. Every county contains a record, but the following areas have an online version. It is always useful to visit your County Archaeological Service to talk directly with the SMR Officer
