Salary: 350 Euros/week
Housing: Accommodation and meals in the student residence is provided by the Ecomuseo.
Work schedule: Two days off per week which coincide with the course breaks for students.
Travel expenses: A reimbursement of max. 300 Euros to cover travel expenses to Menorca will be provided.
Essential requirements
- Experience in direction of necropolis excavations and anthropological studies involving university students.
- Experience with the use of the Harris Matrix recording system.
- Experience with the treatment of skeletal material in the field and in the laboratory.
- Experience in classification and inventory of skeletal material.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English.
- Fluent in both written and spoken Spanish.
- Experience excavating in caves.
- Knowledge of teaching practices and techniques of archaeological excavation and anthropological analysis.
- Experience in excavating tombs.
Other requirements
- A valid drivers license is preferred
- Must enjoy teaching and working with 20 or more people.
Dedication
The post holder will be in charge of an excavation dealing with human and animal skeletal remains. An essential component of the post is to produce an annual report of the results of the excavation that is in keeping with the decree which regulates archaeological excavations in the Balearic Islands of Spain.
